FAQs
I have volunteers come out on the boat and help me film whales. Usually I have three other volunteers on the boat with me: one to drive the boat, one to take notes, one to help me get the camera out of and back into the boat (and to take video footage from the boat) and one is the safety person to make sure everything is okay. No one gets in the water with me to film the whales. There are two reasons for this. I don't want to have someone swimming around in a film about whales. The other reason is I feel safer in the water on my own. The whale always knows where I am. If there were more than one person in the water at the same time, the whale might have difficulty keeping track of who is where.
