FAQs
The smallest Cetacean is Hector's dolphin, less than 5 feet long. These dolphins live almost exclusively off the East coast of South Island, New Zealand. Outside of the dolphin family, the smallest whale is the dwarf sperm whale which grows to be about 8.5 feet long (2.6 m). We have dwarf sperm whales in Bermuda. Last year one came and stranded itself in Ely's Harbour. It was very sick and survived for a day or so before dying.
